Jecinci is a 36-year-old architect and 3D artist who has been colorizing black and white photos since 2015. According to the Romania-based artist, colorizing these photographs is a “hobby that opens a vibrant and dynamic window into the past, through which memories become a vivid reality.” His artistic journey started after seeing a tutorial on YouTube: first, he colorized a photo of his grandparents and then continued with other members of his family.
“I like to colorize images that intrigue me and my imagination, images I’m curious to see in color, besides portraits of important or less important figures, some more or less known, some more or less controversial,” the artist shared on Bored Panda.
Jecinci had colorized over 1300 photographs which he shares on his Instagram account. There he has attracted over 9.5 thousand admirers and history enthusiasts.
