]]>But even if we don’t have to ability to change most colors in our life, at least when it comes to our virtual feed there’s no stopping us from adding a pop of happiness. Our first stop: Chloe Fleury’s Instagram page. An illustrator, prop stylist, and paper artist, Fleury understands the power of color intuitively. Her feed, indeed, her whole life, is presented through a prism of rainbow colors that will boost anyone’s energy. In fact, we dare you NOT to smile, when scrolling through her feed.
“Colors make me happy,” Fleury admitted in an interview with Refinery29. “I really love all the colors and it really depends on my mood. Some days I am more blue, some I am more pink or orange. Let’s just say I am really into neon colors lately—and turquoise!”
Another great love of hers is arts and crafts. Known specifically for her paper vignettes and three-dimensional paper sculptures, Fleury makes sure to inject bright colors throughout her work. “I’ve always loved making things with my hands,” she says. “Later, I discovered stop-motion animation, and the part I loved the most in the process of making a short movie was to create the decors and little worlds.”
Much like her careful choice of color, Fleury takes her time when it comes to choosing the right materials for each of her projects. “I’ve spent a lot of time finding the paper that I like, that is not too thick or too thin, easy to fold and curve,” she notes. “Same goes for the tools I use and the glue. It is important for me to use materials I feel comfortable with in order to be more detailed in my work. I am very meticulous.”

]]>Architecture and interior designer Dmitry Reutov understands the importance of color, which is why color is the main ingredient when it comes to his designs.
“For me, color is one of the most important, basic, and inspiring interior design components,” he relayed once in an interview with Nueve 36am. “Color is able to change any room and make it what you want and dream about.” His color choices, far from being traditional, are meant to evoke emotion. But incorporating such dramatic color palettes took some practice and experimentation.
“Thanks to my experience, my perception of color has changed throughout time and I’ve started to incorporate more and more bright colors instead of going for standard shades,” reflected Reutov.
His bold color choices stand out especially in an interior he designed for an apartment in New York. The 55-square-meter space was designed for a young couple that commissioned the architect to create a vivid and moody space. For Reutov, this meant using different hues of color to create a tropical-like environment that is very much alluring.
According to Reutov, he is inspired by nature on the one hand and ancient architecture on the other. “In addition, I am fascinated by museums, Mexico’s and Morocco’s traditional architecture, their bright colors, bamboo forests, plus Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, and its cosmic landscapes,” he noted. These inspiration sources add a distinct flavor to his interior designs, a flavor that is both appetizing and highly Instagramable.

]]>Designer and illustrator Liz Harry understands color intuitively. A one-woman show, she’s known for her joyful designs and illustrations that are infused with all the colors of the rainbow.
Based in Liverpool, UK, Harry has a love for rainbows and a drawing style that feeds into her accessories design. But you don’t even have to purchase her accessories and products to enjoy her instant mood lifters. Simply scrolling through her Instagram feed would add a pop of color to your day.
With a background in the music industry, creating cover art for bands, both music and pop in general have had a huge influence over her work. But Harry also takes inspiration from her immediate environment.
“Though I do take a lot of inspo from popular culture and packaging aesthetically, I find what I’m surrounded by on the day-to-day is what feeds mostly into my work,” she told The Positive Print Company.
Working from her colorful home office, and being constantly surrounding by her three children also serves to inspire her. “So, as I’ve got 3 kids, there’s the influence of cartoons and a fun, playful side,” she notes. “But sometimes it’s just the conversations I’m having or what I’m doing in that moment that spark a thought.”
According to Harry, she started drawing when she was just a child and hasn’t stopped ever since. “During my teenage years I entered loads of drawing competitions, which kinda cemented the idea of art as a career,” she adds. Purchase her pins, accessories, cards, and illustrated gifts on her Etsy shop, and follow her on Instagram for more color.

]]>“I want to deliver a colorful and positive message and create awareness about being a woman of color and mixed-race,” she pointed out in an interview with Ballpitmag. Born in Paris, she later resided in Réunion—a French island located near Madagascar and Mauritius, and which ethnic groups include people of African, Indian, European, Malagasy, and Chinese origin.
“I was surrounded by lots of colors and flavors,” recalled Durand. “I was living in a place where different communities accept each other.” A celebration of cultures and ethnicities, Durand’s work presents the kind of world we want to live in. “My universe reflects where I come from,” says Durand, “and I want to celebrate my origins through my illustrations.”
