Nelleke Verhoeff, a Rotterdam-based artist and illustrator, started her professional career as a performer in the theater. She and her partner traveled through Europe and performed using circus techniques and masks. She simultaneously discovered her passion for drawing, painting, and digital art. She did a painting program at the Vrije Academie Rotterdam and started working as a designer.

“I’m mostly inspired by people,” Verhoeff says on her website. “I love to watch their attitudes and facial expressions. I like to tell little stories with my work.”

She started her own brand called Red Cheeks Factory and you can purchase her illustrations in the form of postcards. You can also see the illustrations she draws below and on her Instagram page. We enjoyed browsing through them and apparently so did the other 70k of her Instagram followers.
