Gabriel Soares is a Brazilian conceptual artist who specializes in 3D modeling. Soares’ expertise are pop culture characters, which he designs in his recognizable style and then turns into 3D models.

Soares starts his process by making a sketch of the pop culture character that will serve as his model. This can be some musicians like Freddy Mercury, superheros like Thor, or even a social media star like TikToker Khaby Lame. All of his models are easily recognizable but have a somewhat cartoonish appearance to them that makes them surprisingly charming.

After deciding on the design and finishing the sketch, Soares transfers it to a 3D computer model using the software. The last step is bringing the 3D model to life using a 3D printer and putting the finishing touches like paint.

Thanks to his exceptional work, Soares drew the attention of various high-profile brands. He collaborated with Ubisoft, Netflix, Warner Bros, Nickelodeon, and many other famous companies. Even movie stars like Jack Black are fans of his works.

Soares regularly shares his newest creations on his Instagram profile, where he has 638K followers and counting. Continue scrolling to check out some of our favorite works by this highly talented artist.

Francois Xavier Dongu, aka EFIX, is a France-based street artist and musician who is on a mission to bring some “life” to streets of the cities he lives in or visits. EFIX does intriguing interventions on the urban environment introducing the passerby with various pop culture characters.

EFIX manages to find the perfect spots for his works, making it seem like the characters from Disney movies, animated TV shows, and superhero comics are interacting with the world that surrounds them.  This also makes unappealing urban elements more fun.

“Wherever you see a pipe, I’ll see a saxophone, an elephant trunk or a cactus,” EFIX explained in his recent chat with Fubiz.

You’ve probably never thought about how your favorite cartoon characters would look like fossilized skulls, but there’s an artist who asked and decided to create amazing 3D sculptures. His name is Filip Hodas and he lives in Prague, Czech Republic. His latest series of sculptures portray several cartoon characters like Minnie Mouse, Popeye, and Goofy, showing their half-decayed skulls against bright and pastel backgrounds.

Each sculpture features a card that tells us the year of the character’s first appearance on TV and their made-up zoological name to make it look like they’re some old life forms that no longer live on Earth.

“Initially, I wanted to make them stylized as dinosaur fossils set up in a museum environment, but later decided against it, as the skulls didn’t look very recognizable on their own—especially with parts broken or missing. That’s why I opted for (a) less damaged look and also added some assets to each of the characters,” the artist tells This is Colossal.
