]]>As such, her work often takes Forman around the globe (at least when traveling is permitted). So far, Forman has flown with NASA on several Operation IceBridge missions over Antarctica, Greenland, and Arctic Canada. Documenting these landscapes using a camera, she later recreates them in her studio, paying great attention to detail—so much so that the end results often look like enhanced photos.
“I hope viewers feel as if they’ve been transported to the landscape they’re looking at,” Forman reflected in an interview with Visual Atelier 8. “If they can experience the landscape in the way I did, it is my hope they’ll fall in love with it the way I have. And when you love something, you want to protect it.”

]]>Sarah Maxwell is a comic artist and illustrator from Austin, Texas who caught a lot of public attention with her pastel-colored fashion illustrations and comics. Her work is inspired by topics like love, politics, and music.
The artist says that her work can be described with only four words – nostalgia, tenderness, femininity, and 80’s electronic music.
“I try to take on work that has a story that I can relate to – especially if it has a spark and is really moving. It’s great to be the one to bring that story to life. These pieces are the ones I can look back on and be proud of”, the artist told for Communication Arts.
Maxwell says she always knew she wanted to be an illustrator, but she needed time to grow as an artist and create her authentic works. This is when she started sharing her art on social media.
“Shortly after growing a significant following, a lot of clients started approaching me, and that’s when it all began!”
