Movies have the power to bring people together and their most iconic quotes stick with us long after we finish watching them. Not only do they influence the history of cinema, but they have cultural impacts, going viral and becoming part of pop culture.

While it’s almost impossible to pick the very best movie quotes of the 21st century, these 50 are definitely way up there. Did your favorites make the cut? We can’t promise that there won't be spoilers!

"I just wanted to take another look at you."

Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga were a match made in heaven in the 2018 remake of A Star Is Born. The movie follows Cooper’s Jackson Maine, a musician, and Gaga’s Ally, a struggling artist who’s trying to live out her dreams while he battles personal demons and alcoholism.

"I just wanted to take another look at you."

The line "I just wanted to take another look at you" that he says to Ally after the two spent the night together, sent shivers down our spine. The line marks the beginning of their tragic love story and we just wish someone would look at us the way Cooper looks at Gaga.

"I'm glad he's single because I'm going to climb that like a tree."

2011’s Bridesmaids is one of those movies that we could watch over and over again. What could possibly go wrong when bridesmaids fight over who the bride’s best friend is? But it was Melissa McCarthy’s Megan, who plays one of the bridesmaids, who stole the show with her character’s oversharing and high sex drive.

"I'm glad he's single because I'm going to climb that like a tree."

She was really thirsty and one of her best lines is "I'm glad he's single because I'm going to climb that like a tree”. She says it while a tall drink of water past her.

"Jessica, only child, Illinois, Chicago."

The South Korean black comedy thriller Parasite took the world by storm in 2019 and unsurprisingly, it won many awards including four Oscars while making history as the first non-English language film to win an Oscar for Best Picture. The film follows Ki-woo (Woo-sik Choi) and Ki-jung (So-dam Park) who scheme to become employed by a wealthy family and they pose as unrelated, qualified individuals.

"Jessica, only child, Illinois, Chicago."

The iconic line is said when the two show up at the front door of the Park’s home and Ki-jung pauses before knocking and sings, "Jessica, only child, Illinois, Chicago." It shows how close the siblings are and that their elaborate scheme may actually work.

"You have bewitched me, body and soul."

Before becoming famous for his role in Succession, Matthew Macfadyen was best known for playing the oh-so-charming Mr. Darcy in 2005’s Pride and Prejudice. While some may argue that Colin Firth was a better Mr. Darcy, it was Macfadyen’s final declaration of love to Keira Knightley’s Elizabeth Bennett that sticks with us.

"You have bewitched me, body and soul."

"You have bewitched me, body and soul," his character says. While the line seems like it came straight out of the pages of literature, it actually wasn’t in Jane Austin’s 1813 novel—the film’s screenwriter Deborah Moggach came up with it.

"I don't have friends. I got family."

Universal’s biggest franchise and their seventh highest-grossing film series, Fast & Furious is all about street racing, heists, spies, and last but not least, family. No line hammers family like, "I don't have friends. I got family," which Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto says in 2015’s Furious 7.

 "I don't have friends. I got family."

Family became even more relevant after Paul Walker, who played Brian O’Conner in the franchise, died. Furious 7 is the last film that he shot, although he didn’t complete filming it. The movie was released with stand-ins including his brothers Cody and Caleb and Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again” was played as a tribute to the late actor.

"You gotta hear this one song. It'll change your life, I swear."

We still can’t get over Zach Braff and Natalie Portman’s chemistry in 2004’s Garden State, which follows Andrew (Braff) who returns home for his mother’s funeral and meets pathological liar and epileptic Sam (Portman). While it’s a great movie, it’s the soundtrack that we can’t stop talking about. Braff actually picked the soundtrack and it won a Grammy for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture.

"You gotta hear this one song. It'll change your life, I swear."

One of the bands featured in the film is The Shins and Sam passes Andrew a headset that is playing “New Slang” and she says, "You gotta hear this one song. It'll change your life, I swear."
