Adorable Rice Ball Figurines You’d Feel Sorry to Eat

Known as Onigiri Gekijo on Instagram, this food artist creates beautiful figurines from rice balls you’d feel sorry to eat. She describes her page as a Rice Ball Theater!

The Japanese artist says that she’s challenging the art of a moment. She explained in an interview for Bored Panda that making these delicious and creative rice balls are only her hobby and not her full-time job. It all began when she heard that there was a rice ball contest. She applied for it, and “woke up to rice ball art”.

“When I posted the rice balls I made on SNS, I received a lot of happy messages such as wanting to see more and looking forward to the next one, so I am motivated to continue making various rice balls by trial and error,” she said.

She currently has more than 7,000 Instagram followers where she posts images of the artwork, while on YouTube she shares tutorials of herself filming the whole process.
