Artist Recreates Portraits of Famous Figures and The Results Are Remarkable

Hadi Karimi is a gifted 3D modeling artist whose Instagram gallery is filled with images of well-known artists from the past. He began his career around a decade ago, when he worked primarily as a digital painter. But he eventually started creating 3D portraits of countless celebrities—and people couldn’t get enough!

He made replicas of Beethoven, Franz Liszt, and Marilyn Monroe, as well as celebrities from the modern age, like Anne Hathaway, Will Smith, and Kurt Cobain. He classified them into two different categories: portraits of celebrities who we know what they look like, and artists from the past who know less about.

“The second category is facial reconstructions of historical figures (Beethoven, Chopin, etc.) which we kinda know what they looked like but not exactly, and the only references that are still available are paintings, death masks, life masks, and biographies or descriptions of their appearances,” Karimi shared in an interview for Bored Panda.

He also explained that he needs 3-4 weeks to finish a portrait of people we know, while if the subject is from centuries ago, it can take him months.

You can see the gallery on his Instagram account, where he has attracted almost 90,000 admirers. Scroll down and check out the images below. Which one is your favorite?
