Artist Reimagined Famous Artists Into Hipsters and the Results are Hilarious

Amit Shimoni is a young Tel-Aviv-based artist best known for his HIPSTORY series.

This illustrator, content creator and character designer reimagines the portraits of famous historical figures of the 20th century placing them in different time and culture.

Each character gets its own unique hipster interpretation based on the character’s life. From Ghandi, Che Guevara to Albert Einstein, hipstory_shimoni in his newest series he has illustrated his favorite artists. Frida Kahlo, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Vincent Van Gogh, Andy Warhol; they all got a new “modern” look. However, if you look closely, you will notice parts of the icon’s journey of life emphasized in the illustration. For example, Van Gogh has a sunflower detail on his shirt, or that Frida has inked husband’s face Diego Rivera onto her hand.
