José Naranja was an aeronautic engineer for many years before he decided to concentrate his life to art and travel. His love for notebook art began in 2005 after discovering Moleskine pocket journals.

Since then, Naranja creates his own notebooks from scratch, filled with hand-drawn illustrations. His works are made from watercolors, fountain pens, stamps, photos, writing, and drawings. He did not take any art classes but his skills are excellent.

Not long ago, the self-described “notebookmaker” binds his works of art to make them more personal. He even shared his bookbinding process on his blog, saying “The notebook made by yourself offers a higher level of satisfaction than any other. You add the passion and love for it, your favorite paper and details. You add a part of yourself in it.”

Check out his beautiful handcrafted notebooks below.
