Banksy, arguably the world’s most famous street artist, recently presented a new art piece with which he pays tribute to medical staff that is putting up “superhero” efforts during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The artwork is titled Game Changer and shows a young boy playing with a nurse doll dressed in superhero clothes with a Red Cross symbol across the chest and a cape. Near the boy, there is a trash can where he threw his Batman and Spider-Man toys.
The piece is currently displayed at Southampton General Hospital, where Banksy left it with a note: “Thanks for all you’re doing. I hope this brightens the place up a bit, even if it’s only black and white.”
According to Banksy’s spokeswoman, Game Changer will be put on a public display after the lockdown ends, and will later be auctioned to raise money for charities confirmed.
