Olivia Holden is a Yorkshire-based artist best-known for her images done with gouache paint. She starts her process with a pencil sketch in her sketchbook, and then she works up her drawing using acrylic paint. To finish her piece, she scans her painted work and plays around with Photoshop.
“I love to create painterly textures in my work, and try and keep things bright and colorful. My style is always evolving and changing as my work develops but recently I’ve enjoyed adding little details and patterns within the scenes I create,” Holden told in an interview for Ballpit and added that she is currently inspired by old objects from the past.
Hand-printed wallpapers, ornate tiles, old tea bag tins, nature, and people are her biggest inspiration. “I could sit in a busy place and just people watch for a couple of hours,” the artist revealed.
