Bert the Pomeranian Has Much Heft to Him

Bert the pomeranian has much heft to him. That much can be said. We first fell in love with the brown pomeranian when he dressed up as Paddington Bear. A long-time has passed since and our love for him has only grown strong!

We’re hardly the only ones. An NYC celebrity, Bert amassed well over 400k followers. But life wasn’t always easy on the pooch. When he was only 5 months old, he was dumped at a shelter by a breeder who deemed him too big to sell.

It was then that art gallery owner Kathy Grayson swooped in. “There was just something about the look in his eyes,” Grayson told The Dodo. “I think that next day in NYC we had an opening at my art gallery with hundreds of people and a dinner and after-party. From day one, Bert was ready to join the art world!”

Now the official mascot of the NYC art gallery, The Hole, Bert gains as much attention as the artists showcased in the gallery. And sometimes… even more. “He is so calm and like… introspective,” Grayson relayed. “He’s been to dozens of openings, scores of art fairs in NYC, Miami, L.A. and the Hamptons even. He’s been to Canada and Seattle and D.C., to clubs, restaurants, bars, even the opera once! His motto is ‘Happy to be included!’”
