Who says books are just for reading? Bethany Bickley uses them to make unique art, utilizing pages from classics books and magazines to create paper sculptures. Each of her works is a physical representation of imagined visuals.

“I’m a creative problem solver who brings words and visuals together to tell a story with impact and purpose. If there are no visuals, I create them,” Bickley wrote on her website. She has 8 years of experience in daily and weekly publications and knows how to work quickly under pressure without compromising the quality. Her work is detail-oriented and, of course, creative.

Does anyone else ever get inspired, right in the middle of a huge project, to try a completely new technique? Unfortunately, I’m too far along to try it out on what I’m currently working on (still loving it btw) buuuuut stay tuned. This new idea/style could be crazy cool. Visiting bee – aka Pollina (supposed to say pollinate but the wing had to be trimmed). When I sculpt these little pieces they are hollow inside and super delicate. By making little cuts and folds, I get the shape I want – or it just becomes the shape I want. I get that feeling in pottery as well. I start throwing and it’s like “Yeah! I totally meant to do that.” I wish I could say it was all super precise. But it’s not.
