With almost 400,000 followers under his belt, Bichi Mao is a true Instagram sensation, but what is the secret to his success? If you’re a cat owner, or at least a cat lover, you’ll instantly relate to these hilarious comics that often depict cats’ naughty and unpredictable nature.
Bichi Mao is the brainchild of the Malaysian artist Olive Yong, whose main motivation behind starting this series of comics was to spread positive energy to people in a funny and cute way.
“I create cute and relatable short comics series revolving around cat characters presented in an adorable and unique art style… I’m really surprised that people enjoy and love what I’m doing, and their support gives me the strength to continue creating,” explains Yong on his Patreon page.
Yong went a long way since drawing his very first Bichi Mao comic, and his naughty cat character became a true sensation. In addition to running a successful Instagram page, he also immortalized Bichi Mao in a series of coloring books.
