Check Out These 3D Motion Designs if You’re Into Retro-Futurism

Thanks to her Venezuelan immigrant parents, who choose Orlando, Florida, as their new home, artist Grace Casas had the best surroundings to inspire her—living in Disney World’s neighborhood surrounded by tropical paradise all year round.

Casas is a 3D motion designer who describes her aesthetic as “tropical retro-futurism, taking in concepts from the 60’s space-age and marrying them to a beach-town vibe.”

I think the best way to summarize it is “what if Miami was on Mars?”, she says in an interview for Ballpit. “My drive, experience, and creativity have led me to where I am: delivering world-class results in a world-class city.”

The award-winning, New York-based freelancer begins her work with a sketch and then dives straight into 3D. Although she’s also into 2D motion graphics, her favorite medium is 3D art. For her, it’s a versatile tool, which allows her to “recreate anything from reality and make it look as real as you want or as surreal as you want it to be.”

“Some of my best work is a result of happy accidents and me learning new tricks to aid what I already know,” she added. To see her “accidents”, which are truly remarkable, check out her Instagram.
