Claire Prouvost is a French
graphic designer and illustrator living and working in Dublin. She comes from
an artistic family so her path came naturally.
“I’ve been playing with colors
from a very young age. I’ve always loved it, and my family has always been very
supportive of me pursuing an artistic career. I guess that really shaped who I
am today,” Prouvost shares her beginnings in an interview for Ballpit and adds that she loves all
things colorful, strong and powerful.
At the moment, her favorite thing to draw are portraits of women. “I really enjoy drawing them and their diversity. I suppose I love to draw attitudes and expressions and to say a lot of things about them, with very few lines and details. I try to shape faces and the space around them with color blocks and playing with contrast and shadows,” she said.
If you browse through her
Instagram account, you will see that she loves gouaches and works with only
three primary colors; yellow, red and ultramarine, and a little bit of white.
