Comedian Kareem Rahma has one of the most intriguing TikTok series we have had a chance to see lately. He is taking cabs across New York City, telling the drivers to drive wherever they want and to keep the meter running.
Rahma’s goal is to find out more about the life of NYC cab drivers and visit their favorite places. He shares new episodes on his TikTok, with each episode featuring a different driver and being split into multiple videos.
The first video from the series was uploaded in late October and featured Pakistani driver Abdul Rauf Khan. During the drive, Khan told Rahma more about his life, including how he has been living in the U.S. for more than two decades without his family and how he has a Master’s degree in geology. The two visit several of Khan’s favorite spots, including a mosque.
Keep the Meter Running series has become quite popular on social media and has seen six drivers take part. Rahma’s most expensive experience was with a driver named Ali, with whom he spent almost eight hours, went on a helicopter ride, and got charged $525 at the end of the day.
Keep the Meter Running TikTok channel got close to 130K followers in less than two months and currently has 1.9 million video likes. The episodes are being released on a weekly basis, so make sure to check them out.
