Dino Tomic is an artist who loves experimenting with new techniques and expanding his artistic field. This Croatian-born tattoo artist, who is currently living and working in Norway, discovered that inking people isn’t his only passion; he loves creating artwork by using regular kitchen salt and gunpowder.

He started drawing salt mandalas, however, nowadays his portfolio is full of amazing portraits, like the portrait of Daenerys Targaryen, John Snow and many other Game of Thrones characters, as well. He also draws fascinating portraits of flowers and animals, both made from salt and gunpowder, which are even more fascinating, because they are literally “on fire”.

Dino currently has 585k followers on his Instagram account and thousands of likes on his posts.

The Rock made with Salt Everything made only using kitchen salt and a empty bottle to release the salt on a black carpet. ( PS. Watch with sound ) I get inspired by determination and a strong drive. People who are willing to do way more than others and just become better in what they do. Becoming a overall better person and bringing joy to everyone in the process. Thats something to strive for – thats real inspiration. Thats why i wanted to do a tribute of salt to The Rock @therock – he really inspires the world in so many ways. You dont need to like what he does to appreciate all the hard work he has put into where he is now today. A true role model for many and should be for many more. When i first started posting my art online i had a goal of 1 drawing per day no matter what. But i also wanted that the next drawing would be better and more mind blowing than the previous one. That way i was always forcing my self to make better and more creative art. Just look at my gallery and you will see what i mean. They are in between many pieces that dont fit this criteria but thats because i was probably testing out something that might not has gone as planed. I feel that its important to share failed attempts and not hide them. Everyone makes mistakes . But challenging yourself in every possible way and not giving up is the key. Thats why i was so strict on what i post and that i dont post a milion teasers of art just to get attention. Thats why i only share finished work and the best work i can do – and thats what i was doing for 10 years now. =) Keep on rocking people
