Digital Illustrations of City Infrastructure by Paul Hallows

Paul Hallows, known as himhallows, is the artist behind the new series of illustrated patterns that represents city infrastructure. His collection ranges from shipping containers to wind turbines to air condition units. As he explains (quoted by Creative Boom), “the patterns make use of scale to create images that appear logical in construction but abstract in their repetition.”

His new series, simply titled Infrastructure, will be displayed at the Modernist Gallery in Manchester starting August 23rd. Hallows has been working as a freelance illustrator for the past five years. He’s self-taught and some of his first projects were posters for local bands and friends in the creative community of Manchester. He continued doing various freelance work, from posters to animation for the next couple of years. He hosted his first solo show in 2018 and it showed a series of illustrations of Greater Manchester’s brutalist buildings.
