Family Recreates Video For Journey’s “Separate Ways” Shot For Shot While in Quarantine

Being isolated or in quarantine during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic can get tough for most families, but not the Hellers. This creative bunch recently decided to use the most out of this situation and do an epic shot-for-shot remake of the music video for Journey’s 1983 hit “Separate Ways.”

The first one to come up with this fun activity was mother Jana Heller, who pitched the idea to her husband Steve. While Steve was initially reluctant as it sounded as “a lot of work,” he eventually got on board when he saw the original video.

The couple recruited their children Lily, Jackson, Asher, and Violet as the rest of the band, and the kids didn’t need any convincing at all. According to Steven and Jana, they immediately jumped on the opportunity to do such a fun project.

“We wanted to be able to 10 years from now, say, ‘Remember when we were stuck in our home, and we did this crazy thing and it was so much fun?,'” said Steven in a recent chat with Today.

The Heller family ended up nailing the performance and produced a pure masterpiece that quickly went viral on social media.
