Hanna Eidson is Taking Instagram By Storm With Her Whimsical Decor

Rug hooking is a truly underrated art form that most people haven’t even heard of, but Hanna Eidson is doing a great job putting it on the map. After mastering the ancient technique of tufting, she started creating some of the most whimsical rugs and other décor pieces that you’ll ever see.

Eidson’s brand H.H. Hooks is now followed by over 70,000 people on Instagram, and it allowed her to explore one of her biggest passions. She grew up in a family where crafting was greatly encouraged, and she spent a lot of time painting and drawing in her grandma’s studio.

Eidson’s mother was the one who played a crucial role in encouraging her to pursue fiber art. She taught her to knit at a very young age and signed her up for a rug-hooking class after she graduated from college and moved back to Nova Scotia in 2016.

She was immediately hooked and used her new skills to make rugs, coasters, and quirky sculptures that look incredibly cozy and take the shape of milk cartons.

“During the pandemic, I lost my job as a bartender and decided to use my first CERB cheque to buy myself a tufting gun, and I haven’t stopped tufting since. I am so grateful to get to spend my time creating cozy and colorful art,” writes Eidson on her official website.
