Istanbul-based artist Alper Yesiltas recently decided to employ the power of Artificial intelligence for an intriguing project called “Young Age(d).” With the help of AI, Yesiltas is trying to see how young celebrities will look once they grow older.
Yesiltas started the project with aging climate activist Greta Thunberg, and the result is quite convincing.
“Behind this project lies the question of “What will some of the young people we know look like a few decades from now?”,” Yesiltas explains.
The artist also added several decades to musicians Harry Styles and Justin Bieber, actress Emma Stone, and soccer stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. In each case, the AI did a pretty good job.
Browsing though Yesiltas’s Young Age(d) collection, we noticed that AI made some intriguing choices when it came to making celebrities older. Some changed their entire image, while others just got a few wrinkles and gray hair. This contrasts with most other “aging” projects, which frequently use the same approach for every photo.
