How did Yves Saint Laurent put it? Fashions fade, style is eternal. Jeanette Getrost’s Instagram page is a stylish haven. An internationally recognized artist, she embodies the spirit of fashion both on paper and outside of it. With a background in studio art and vintage fashion, Getrost brings a distinctively classical vision to contemporary apparel, partnering with brands as big as Chanel and Dior to Esteé Lauder and Tiffany & Co.
“Fashion has always been a creative outlet for me,” she shared with The Style Line. “When I was old enough to dress I would change my clothes constantly until I felt that my outfits reflected my mood. I still am that way, and it’s sort of my relationship to the fashion industry.”
An illustrator and painter working exclusively within the fashion scene, Getrost was crowned by Vogue as one of the fashion industry’s most in-demand illustrators and her work has been covered by trend-setting publications including W. and Women’s Wear Daily. “My process changes depending on the project or piece,” she says, “but I like looking back at a piece and see the evolution from inspiration to concept to design.”
Her pieces are both luxurious and unpresumptuous – style in capital S. See for yourself:
