Katerina Marchenko’s Tulle Embroidery Is As Dreamy As It Gets

The list of embroidery artists on Etsy and Instagram is pretty much endless, and it can be difficult to stand out, but Katerina Marchenko found a way. She made a name for herself with her whimsical tulle embroidery, which looks straight out of a fairytale.

Marchenko fell in love with embroidery in 2015, and it didn’t take her long to discover that dense fabrics simply aren’t a thing. Dreamy designs from Valentino, Elie Saab, and Dior inspired her to try experimenting with tulle, and that was when she found her true calling.

Marchenko says she likes working with tulle because she believes that transparent fabrics embroidery is visually more voluminous, and she describes her technique as an “organized chaos”.

“I do not make sketches before I start working… I make the contours and select shades when I’m already in the process. I am attracted to bright saturated colors, so I often try to integrate them with harmonious colors but try not to make it too flashy,” explains Marchenko on Bored Panda.

Marchenko’s Instagram page attracted 400,000 followers on Instagram, but you can also shop for some of her embroidery hoops and other creations on Etsy. If you’re so impressed by her technique, you can try to master it yourself since she offers embroidery courses on her official website.
