Instagram is home to more travel bloggers than we can count, but the ones who are 100% honest and authentic aren’t easy to find. Liz Carlson is one of the rare few who is blogging about solo travel in a fun and unfiltered way and we can’t get enough of her Instagram page Young Adventuress.
Carlson fell in love with traveling when she was 16 years old—and she never looked back. Her first big adventure came in 2010 when she moved to Spain to teach English. She spent three years living in this country, everywhere from Salamanca and Córdoba, and this experience awakened her love for traveling and exploring different cultures.
Carlson started a travel blog to chronicle her adventures and later decided to dedicate herself to travel blogging full-time, always aiming to set herself aside from others who are pursuing the same profession.
“I like to think I’m different than most other travel blogs. I also tend to think of myself as a curious traveler after profound experiences and the idea of ticking stuff off a bucket list makes me want to punch a wall,” writes Carlson on her blog.
Over a decade after kicking off her journey, she visited over 50 countries and her wanderlust is only growing stronger. She’s currently based in New Zealand, and she enjoys spending her time outdoors and doing conservation work since she happens to be a huge fan of native animals, especially birds.
