Man Shows How Cinnamon is Harvested, Leaves TikTok Users in Shock

Most people never really think about the origins of the cinnamon spice they use in their cinnamon buns, apple pie, or coffee. This is why TikToker Gray Davis decided to show how cinnamon is actually harvested, and his video left TikTok users in shock.

For those of you who are not familiar with the process, cinnamon spice is actually ground up the inner bark of the cinnamon tree. The cinnamon sticks, on the other hand, are dried bark that wasn’t processed all the way.

In his video, Davis took his TikTok followers through the entire process, including cutting down the cinnamon tree branches and extracting the cinnamon bark.

The clip quickly became viral and had 12 million views at the time of writing. It also caught social media users by surprise, as many of them didn’t know where the cinnamon actually comes from.

“Um, I was today years old when I found out cinnamon comes from trees,” @mendezmarie wrote in the comment section.

“I don’t know where I thought cinnamon came from, but it wasn’t this,” added @cosmic_drugz.

Davis later shared Part. 2 of the video, in which he showed how he turns cinnamon bark into spice and uses it for cooking.
