You might think that it is hard to find unique hats and headpieces nowadays. But that is just because you probably didn’t come across the works of Tel Aviv, Israel-based designer, and milliner Maor Zabar.
Zabar creates some of the most extravagant headpieces and hats we have ever seen. They are colorful, expertly crafted, and have just the right hint of crazy and weirdness to make them impossible to ignore.
Zabar has been passionate about hats since early childhood, taking pleasure in making up his own designs. The fascination remained with him even when he grew up, so he decided to take on a millinery class.
In 2014, Zabar started a millinery atelier and has been wowing the fashion world with his unique hat designs ever since. He also found success in costume design, creating the outfit worn by 2018 Eurovision winner Netta Barzilai.
“I like to draw inspiration from subjects that surround me in my everyday life like the theatre world, art, and fashion, I like it when I stumble across an object or any miscellaneous that for most people would be an insignificant thing, but for me, it can become an entire collection,” he explains on his website.
