Martin Bruckner Uses His Illustrations to Honor People We Lost in 2022

From Queen Elizabeth II to Olivia Newton-John, we said goodbye to many beloved public figures this past year. Martin Bruckner decided to honor their legacy through a series of touching illustrations that pay tribute to the people we lost in 2022.

Martin Bruckner goes by @spaghettitoesdad on Instagram and he’s the founder of Harp and Squirrel studio alongside his wife Michelle. They both have day jobs in the fashion industry, but also enjoy taking on creative freelance projects on the side.

Marin mostly focuses on designing logos, posters, brochures, and business cards, in addition to being passionate about hand-drawing portraits. Throughout 2022, he creates a series of around 25 memorial portraits of some of the celebrities who will be deeply missed after passing away this year.

“We lost so many amazing people in 2022. I do tribute portraits for a living so when someone in the public eye passes, I do my very best to do an illustration to honor them… And I know I missed a few, but I did my best to do as many as I could,” Bruckner told Bored Panda.

Bruckner made sure that his collection includes people from all walks of life, from royals such as Queen Elizabeth II and musicians Taylor Hawkins, Coolio, and Meatloaf to Hollywood legends Ray Liotta, Olivia Newton-John, Angela Lansbury, and many more.
