Meet Two 81-Year-Old Grandmas Who Traveled the World in 80 Days

It’s never too late to travel the world, and Sandy Hazelip and Ellie Hamby are a case in point. The two BFFs joined forces at 81 and decided to travel the world in 80 days by each other’s side. They might be old, but they’re young at heart, and they’re having the time of their lives!

Hazelip and Hamby came up with the idea to travel the world in 80 days when they were 80 a few years ago and decided to finally make it happen once the Covid restrictions eased up. They dedicated their trip to their late husbands Don and Kelly because they wish they were there to join them on this adventure.

The duo’s epic adventure kicked off in Texas, and they went on to see some of the world’s greatest wonders, from the Taj Mahal in India to the pyramids in Egypt. The duo was so determined to see it all, that they even went tracking in Antarctica before heading back home.

Hazelip and Hamby embarked on their adventure with a physician and a photographer by their side and shared their adventure on social media. The best part of this journey are all the wonderful people they met along the way and the memories they made by their side.

“When we reflect on the countries we have visited, we remember the magnificent architecture and the lovely countryside, but most memorable is the joy and emotion on the faces of the people,” the duo explained on their official website.
