Meghan Markle has made the decision to postpone the premiere of her highly anticipated Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, which was initially scheduled for January 15. The delay comes in response to the devastating wildfires currently ravaging parts of Los Angeles, with many areas facing destruction and displacement. In light of the ongoing crisis, Markle has opted to push back the release to allow the city and its residents to focus on recovery efforts. The series will now debut on March 4, 2025, giving fans more time to await the launch of the highly anticipated project.

Markle expressed her gratitude to Netflix for supporting this delay, emphasizing the importance of focusing on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in her home state of California. “I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California,” the duchess said in a statement reported by the BBC.

Harry and Meghan Join Relief Efforts

In response to the crisis, Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, have been actively involved in relief efforts. They volunteered at the Pasadena Convention Center, assisting displaced residents, and have opened their Montecito home to friends who have lost their homes, including several celebrities.

However, not everyone appreciates the royal couple’s efforts. Family Ties star Justine Bateman, who has already expressed her frustration with Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’ handling of the devastating Southern California wildfires, criticized Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for what she saw as an insensitive “photo op” at an evacuation center for victims. “Meghan Markle and Harry are no better than ambulance chasers,” Bateman, 58, wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday evening. “What a repulsive ‘photo op’ they achieved,” as reported by Fox News.

What is With Love, Meghan About?

With Love, Meghan is a lifestyle series featuring Markle engaging in various activities such as cooking, beekeeping, gardening, and floral arrangement while sharing practical tips and fostering candid conversations with her guests. The show includes eight 30-minute episodes, featuring guest appearances from celebrities including actress Mindy Kaling and former Suits star Abigail Spencer.

According to People, California holds significant meaning for the 43-year-old Duchess of Sussex. While she now lives in Montecito with her husband, Prince Harry, and their children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, Meghan was born and raised in Los Angeles. With Love, Meghan will feature heartfelt references to her home state and the deep connection she maintains with it.

The Los Angeles wildfires have been catastrophic, consuming over 37,000 acres, destroying more than 12,000 structures, and claiming 24 lives. The fires have also led to numerous production stoppages in the entertainment industry, affecting shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live, Grey’s Anatomy, and NCIS.

While the delay of With Love, Meghan is a setback for fans, Markle’s decision underscores her commitment to supporting her community during this challenging time. The rescheduled premiere on March 4 will allow audiences to enjoy the series once the immediate crisis has been addressed.
