If Twitter is to be believed, it’s been a tough few months for Henry Cavill. After exiting the hit Netflix show The Witcher to return as Superman, the British actor recently announced his exit as the icon superhero amid ongoing DC shakedown, and movie Twitter went crazy following the shocking news.

Cavill’s exit comes shortly after James Gunn And Peter Safran took over the DC Studios, putting several future projects in jeopardy. Wonder Woman 3 was the first to receive the boot, and it didn’t take long for Gunn to announce a new Superman movie about his early days—that doesn’t include Henry Cavill.

Cavill himself confirmed his exit with an emotional social media post, saying his turn to wear the cape has passed—despite the fact he announced his return back in October and reportedly left The Witcher so he could play Superman again.

Movie Twitter wasn’t very happy with this course of events and they were pretty open with their disapproval of the direction that the DC Universe is taking since Gun and Safran took the reins. Most of the fans expressed how sorry they are for Cavill, but some took things in a more humorous direction, suggesting new roles he could take now that his schedule cleared up.
