This weekend’s soccer match between Chile teams Curicó Unido and Palestino was briefly interrupted by a fan who stormed on the pitch. However, unlike other pitch intruders, this one was a good boy who had his actions met with loud cheers from the crowd and smiles from the players.
In a video posted on TikTok by @jeshucaroca, a fluffy dog can be seen rushing to the pitch and stealing the ball. The dog keeps on holding onto the prized possession while players gather around him to give him some pets.
At one point, Palestino’s forward, Maximiliano Salas, takes the dog into his arms and carries him off the pitch while the stands go wild. The pupper, showing no signs of regret for bringing the match to a halt, eventually gets returned to its owner.
The clip quickly became viral on social media, gaining more than 8 million views on TikTok in just a couple of days.
We don’t know much about the adorable doggo that caused the incident, but he may have been a lucky charm for Palestino. They won the match 1-0 and ended their four-game winless streak to make their way into the Top 10 on Chile Primera Division standings.
