Scotland-based illustrator Ed Merlin Murray creates animated illustrations by hand, without using any software to help the process. He hand-draws all the elements and moves them while filming his work to create the animation effect. In order to do this, he uses tab-pulling, paper-flipping, and many other techniques.
His biggest inspiration is the expressiveness of the human face, which is why you will often see his characters moving their lips and eyes and making other facial gestures. “When not drawing, Murray plays Lego with his kids and keyboards in a traditional local reggae band,” we learn on his website.
