Reddit Users Get Upset After Seeing a Carpet in a Bathroom

Carpets work well in living rooms, bedrooms, and Aladdin movies. However, seeing them in a bathroom is unusual. And, it turns out, quite upsetting for Reddit users.

Recently, Reddit user @Extreme_Distance6241 posted a photo that he described as “the most upsetting thing I’ve seen in a while.“ It shows a bathroom that has its entire floor covered with a thick brown carpet.

Understandably, the image quickly launched a discussion on whether carpets actually belong in the bathroom. While some argued that having carpet in your bathroom isn’t all that bad, saying it keeps the feet warm in the winter, others pointed out its many disadvantages.

“I’m a carpenter, and I’ve worked in a lot of house over the last 12 years,” wrote @rayferrr. “I’ve seen this about 5 times. Once was too many!”

Most users agreed that the carpet in the bathroom would be wet all the time, which would cause mold to spread quickly. Several of them witnessed this in person, saying that they saw mushrooms grow on bathroom carpets.

“We rented a house with a carpeted bathroom,” shared @krb48. “It got wet, and mushrooms started growing in it. We had to pick them every morning.”
