Retired Boeing 737 Gets Turned Into a Luxury Villa

Most out-of-service planes get stripped down and sold for scraps. But entrepreneur Felix Demin had a different vision when he bought a retired Boeing 737. He had a vision of turning it into a luxury villa.

Demin bought the plane, previously part of the fleet of Indonesian airline Mandala Air, in 2021 and had it transported to the island of Bali. The plane was installed on a cliff that overlooks a popular Nyang Nyang beach and transformed into high-end accommodation.

Called Private Jet Villa by Hanging Gardens, the Boeing 737 villa has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, an infinity pool with a view of the Indian Ocean, and a terrace placed on one of the plane’s wings. It comes with all sorts of amenities, including a 24-hour front desk.

“Externally and structurally, this is a jet aircraft that we have turned into a luxury hotel,” Demin told Business Insider.

Private Jet Villa by Hanging Gardens opened in March and was listed for rent at Expedia with a price of $7,300 a night. However, there are no available dates at the moment, as the interest of travelers far surpassed expectations.
