“Seagull Girl” Sophie Morelli is Realistically Impersonating Animal Sounds

There’s something really fun about trying to impersonate animal sounds, but Sophie Morelli managed to turn it into an art form. The aspiring musician earned herself the nickname “Seagull Girl” thanks to her scarily accurate animal impersonations.

Morelli’s rise to prominence started when she joined TikTok and started sharing videos with the world in 2020. Her viral clips often blend comedy and music into one, and she uses them to showcase her vocal skills while making incredible animal impressions, most notably copying the sound of seagulls’ squeaks.

She attracted four million followers to her TikTok page @sewphy in the past two years, but she’s no longer focused on only being an internet sensation. Morelli is also an inspiring singer, and her whistle register is so strong that she could give Ariana Grande a run for her money.

Morelli is pursuing a career in the music industry, and her first single “Shreds of Love” came out earlier this year. This dream seemed out of reach just two years ago when she was busy studying industrial design, with her parents pushing her to find a job in this field.

After blowing up on TikTok with her animal voice imitations, Morelli finally got the exposure she needed to give music a real shot, and we’re looking forward to listening to some more of her music in the future.
