The comedy classic The Office and Apple’s recent thriller hit series Severance couldn’t be more opposite. One is a fun and lighthearted presentation of office life while the other one presents a gritty and dark look at the absurdity of office jobs and the possible future of the workplace.
However, they have one thing in common. Both series take place in an office, which was enough for YouTuber Magoob Toys to mash them up in his recent parody video. The YouTuber blends footage of Severance, which was a surprise hit when it came out earlier this year and received 14 nominations at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards, with the intro music of The Office, resulting in an amazing clip that completely changes the tone of the former.
Thanks to the combination of goofy scenes and upbeat music, Severance looks just like some The Office clone. Those who didn’t watch it would probably think it’s just another sitcom full of the chuckle-worthy moment.
