Taylor Hawkins’ Son Shane Joined Foo Fighters for an Emotional Rendition of “My Hero”

Rockers Foo Fighters recently held a tribute concert to honor their late drummer Taylor Hawkins, who tragically passed away earlier this year. The gig saw the band welcoming a star-studded list of guests that included Travis Barker, Liam Gallagher, and Brian May, but there was one appearance that absolutely stole the entire show.

For the popular hit song “My Hero,” Foo Fighters were joined on the stage by Taylor Hawkins’ 16-year-old son Shane, who took his father’s spot behind the drum kit.

“He’s a member of our family … I think it makes sense that he’s going to come up and play with us tonight,” Foo Fighters’ frontman Dave Grohl introduced Shane.

What followed was the most emotional moment of the night in a night full of emotions. The audience was not only touched by Shane’s courage to get on the stage with the wounds from his father’s death still fresh but also impressed by his amazing drumming skills. The teenager managed to get through the song without skipping a beat while drumming as hard as one can drum.

The video of the performance quickly became viral and became the talk of the internet. Check it out below.
