↟BREAKAWAYTALE NR 62⠀ TODAYS TALE IS ABOUT @adventuresofsyl⠀ Part 2/3 ⋅ Break Away Tale⠀ ⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋ ⠀ "We’re Alec and Becca, plus our two dogs Syl and Gus and we’ve just returned home from an incredible 10 month adventure exploring Europe.⠀ ⠀ We decided to take the plunge after I (Becca) was made redundant and Alec was allowed a years sabbatical. We’d had the idea of converting a van for a while and this was exactly what we needed to push us into making that first step and we’re so glad we did! The feeling of travelling around inside the little rolling home you’ve built is absolutely indescribable. ⠀ ⠀ Being able to visit all these amazing places and then come back after a days exploring to your own cozy home no matter where you are in the world, is such a brilliant way to travel. Plus (a big plus for us) it makes travelling with a dog so much easier – so easy in fact we doubled the fun (and the mischief) when we found Gus on the side of the road while driving through Montenegro.⠀ ⠀ After an amazing summer and then ski season in the Alps we’re back home and already can’t wait to explore what the UK has to offer – and plan our next trip further afield!"⠀ ⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋ ⠀ ↟ You also got a tale to tell? ⠀ Use #breakawaytales or tag us for a chance to get featured.

↟BREAKAWAYTALE NR 63⠀ TODAYS TALE IS ABOUT @khaya.on.wheels⠀ Part 2/3 ⋅ Break Away Tale⠀ ⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⠀ "My name is Martijn van der Put, I have been living in South Africa for 12 years with my now ex wife and 2 kids who recently moved out and after being a single dad and entrepreneur running Khaya Volunteer Projects, I decided it was time to do what I always wanted; travel without a time limit and without a real destination. ⠀ ⠀ In mid May 2017 this old campervan came into my life and after fixing her up I realized that this was my new home on wheels. I now run my business remotely with 1.5 hrs of focus in the morning and then enjoy my days outdoors. How ever much I miss my kids, I love living in my Khaya (meaning home in the local language Xhosa) and having a nomadic lifestyle. Giving up my house, selling and giving away stuff that I accumulated over the years was a relief as a simpler and more minimalist life is what suits me much better. ⠀ ⠀ I love meeting new people wherever I go, I cook great meals, read, write and started trying playing the ukulele. I now live of a third or what my life in a house cost and it feels really good to feel so alive, new adventures await, new people and experiences are coming my way! I intend to drive into Africa in the next months with Namibia as a next destination in a month or so."⠀ ⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋ ⠀ ↟ You also got a tale to tell? ⠀ Use #breakawaytales or tag us for a chance to get featured.
