These Sneaker Drawings are So Realistic That You Might Confuse Them for Photographs

When they first look at the works of British artist Steph Morris, most people believe they are looking at a photograph of sneakers. What they don’t realize at that moment is that Morris didn’t use a camera to capture them. Instead, she used a piece of paper and pencils.

Morris creates hyper-realistic drawings of sneakers with amazing attention to detail. From unique sole designs to stitching and laces, the artist manages to capture every element of the sneaker to give her works a photograph quality. She is so good at what she does that she even has to prove to some of her social media followers that her drawings are actual drawings.

Morris’ impressive works have helped her build a significant social media following while giving her opportunity to collaborate with high-profile sneaker brands. But, as it turns out, she never had the intention to make a career out of it.

According to Morris, she wanted to get a Nike Cortez artwork for her wall but failed to find a piece that she liked. At that point, she decided to draw one by herself and later shared it on her social media. It turned out that people loved her work, prompting her to work on similar pieces.

“I’m all about pushing boundaries with my work, and I am constantly seeking to develop my craft. I think it’s incredibly important for creatives to be unique in their work, having something that sets you apart from the rest or finding something niche to explore,” the artist explained in a recent interview with KLEKT.
