Johannes Stötter is a fine art artist famous for his cutting-edge work in the world of body painting and body art.
In 2013, his artwork featuring a tropical frog using 5 models went viral and since then, his career skyrocketed, winning numerous awards and received several accolades from notable press. With his incredible painting skills, he transforms human bodies into realistic animals and other objects.
“Bringing his artwork to life with each brush stroke, and creating detailed effects with his hands, he fuses the seen and unseen into one. Often blending his art into the backdrop of natural landscapes or indoor décor, he creates illusionary masterpieces, portraying the beauty of life forms within its very existence and vulnerability,” his website reads.
His latest work features model Sara Costabiei turning herself into lifelike sea turtle swimming in the sea. Stötter shared the video, which at first look appears like a marine life documentary. In the clip, the “turtle” is seen swimming through a blue ocean until it begins to change shape, revealing its true identity. The model slowly moves from her position, showing how her body was painted.
