This Book Folding and Origami Art is Simply Amazing

Yuto Yamaguchi is a Japanese artist who specializes in book folding and origami art. Thanks to his amazing creations, Yamaguchi amassed a huge following on social media, including 470,000 followers on TikTok and 230,000 followers on Instagram.

For his book folding art, which sees turning book pages into 3D shapes and lettering, Yamaguchi uses second-hand books. These books have been usually left to collect dust somewhere, and the artist gives them a new purpose.

According to Yamaguchi, he was intrigued by origami since early childhood. He discovered book folding in 2013 thanks to the internet and believed it was a great way to improve his origami skills. Since then, book folding has become an important part of his practice and has brought him worldwide recognition.

Yamaguchi’s book folding works have been acquired by art collectors from all over the world, with more than 1,000 pieces finding a new home in 40 different countries. They are appreciated due to the artist’s meticulous dedication to the craft. He never cuts the paper and instead remains true to the original origami way of folding.

Besides the book folding, Yamaguchi also continued to work on more traditional origami. His works include creating complex paper sculptures without the use of glue or scissors.
