We’ve all dreamt of having a dragon as a pet at least once in a lifetime, and Alexey Kashpersky made that dream come true—kind of. He adopted an albino super crimson iguana named Tamerlan, who’s the closest thing to a dragon that you’ll ever come across.
Kashpersky is a digital designer and creative director at Newt Studios, and he’s been fascinated with dragons for as long as he can remember. He spent his childhood looking for their pictures in books and always felt there was something magical, enchanting, and inspiring in the primal awe of these mythical animals.
His life turned upside down when he finally got a chance to adopt a “dragon” of his own. His super crimson iguana Tamerlan hatched in 2018 and was born blind because of albinism. Kashpersky decided to chronicle their journey on an Instagram page “Dragon and Me”, and Tamerlan went on to become a huge Instagram sensation.
“During this time we have grown into a huge community with over two hundred thousand dedicated dragon lovers and friends. Our goal is to educate people, share rays of positive emotions, inspire with nature’s incomparable beauty, and never stop being creative along our journey,” Kashpersky explains on his official website.
