Olga Kamenetskaya is a Ukrainian artist that modifies dolls to make them look realistic. She started repainting dolls as a hobby but eventually turned it into a profession.

Olga does custom work, taking famous dolls such as Ever After High, Monster High dolls, and the beloved Barbie dolls, and transforms them into new and one-of-a-kind dolls. She credits her husband for helping her to become a master doll-maker. “I didn’t believe in myself the way he [believed in me],” Olga told Vogue. “I’m never 100 percent satisfied with my work; I always think that it’s possible to do better with each new doll.”

She took beauty courses to improve her skills and now she’s also a pro makeup artist. But Olga prefers to keep things natural. “I don’t like when the new face of the doll is ideal and perfectly symmetrical, it makes it lifeless,” she explained. “I always deliberately leave some flaw that may not be noticeable to everyone, but [gives] the doll invisible charisma. Perhaps, this flawed beauty is the message that my dolls carry.”
