It’s safe to say that cats don’t have any courtesy when it comes to getting things they want. A viral TikTok video of a cat waking up her owners in the middle of the night to get her snack perfectly illustrates this.
A clip posted by TikToker @laurenjenel12 shows a cat jumping on her owners’ bed and trying various methods to wake up the humans. She first attempted a more sensible approach that included stroking them on the face with her pawn and gently nudging them. But when that didn’t work out, the cat simply reverted to causing noise and biting.
In the caption of the video, which got nine million views in a matter of days, @laurenjenel12 explained that the cat wanted to get her snack at 1 am since the automatic feeder was accidentally unplugged.
Newsweek later reached out to @laurenjenel12 to learn more about the cat. Her name is Ash, and she is two years old. She is really sweet and smart and is always looking for ways to get more food.
“Her nightly shenanigans don’t matter as much as how much love she brings into our home by just being herself. She is one of the SOFTEST cats I have ever seen, and even the vet agrees. She is just so spoiled,” the TikToker shared in a chat with Newsweek.
