Although some of the best designers like Oscar de la Renta come from Latin America, it’s yet to be recognized as a fashion hotspot. These up and coming Latinx designers are making names for themselves in the fashion industry and some of our favorite celebrities are wearing their creations. You’ll want to start following them on Instagram.

Elena Velez

Named by Teen Vogue as a Generation Next fashion designer, Velez has already dressed Charlie XCX and Kali Uchis. Her designs reinterpret femininity and are crafted repurposed boat covers, ship steel, and line—an inspiration that comes from her mother’s job as a ship captain.

Iván Ávalos

His clientele has been Mexican stars including Paulina Goto, Danna Paola, and Barbara Islas, but we’re sure more celebrities will want to be dressed by him after seeing his amazing tulle and ruffled voluminous dresses. But his designs aren’t limited to whimsical dresses, he also creates chic pantsuits and ruched knitwear.

Raul Lopez

His adrogynous collection with plays with textures and is in neutral color palletes have been worn by Solange and Rihanna. His collection LUAR debuted in 2018 and has been seen on runways during fashion week.
