Yumna Jawad Became “Feel Good Foodie” After Convincing Her Mom to Teach Her How to Cook

Feel Good Foodie is one of Instagram’s most popular food blogs with 3.7 million followers and counting, and its founder Yumna Jawad credits her mom for her success. She taught her how to cook the Lebanese classics she grew up with, and she’s now sharing her skills with the rest of the world.

Jawad wasn’t a skilled cook when she got married, and she often stopped at her mom’s house to pick up dinner after work. She worked in marketing in the retail food industry back in the day, but even that didn’t inspire her to give cooking a try.

She didn’t want to let go of her mom’s cooking for a long time, but eventually decided she wanted to become a wizard in the kitchen, as well, and asked her to teach her the basics.

“I talked her into teaching me how to cook – on the phone, by my side. It was 2007, and there was no FaceTime, but we made it work. Feel Good Foodie is rooted in that experience. Now, I get to be the wizard in the kitchen, helping you get dinner on the table every night,” she explains on her food blog.

Inspired by the dishes of her childhood, Jawad eventually founded Feel Good Foodie and started inspiring other people to improve their cooking skills. She specializes in sharing recipes with a Mediterranean touch, made with wholesome, organic, natural, and clean ingredients.
