According to the artist known as Yuri, sweetness and sass are the two of the best energies an individual can have. And she enjoys preaching that through Bbs, adorable characters that star in her entertaining series of illustrations “Making S*it.”
Yuri describes Bbs as an “adorable, blobby, squishy cherub-like nonbinary characters.” She uses their cute look to convey messages that can be anywhere on the sweet and sass spectrum.
For example, one Bb will tell you to “be the reason someone believes in good people.” But then another one is saying, “I know one of us is right, and the other one is you.” It seems like you never know what their mood will be like.
“It’s my aim to create a space for the best two energies to have; sweetness and sass, and to bring more light and color into the world,” she explains on her website.
Yuri is a marketing strategist by profession, and being an illustrator is her passion project. Besides the “Making S*it” series, she is also engaged in several other projects. One of them is “The ABCs Of,” a picture book for grownups that is currently waiting for a publisher to pick it up.
