This summer has given us several amazing blockbusters, and A-list stars weren’t the only ones promoting them. Some of the summer’s best press tours wouldn’t be the same without the adorable animals walking the red carpet, and these three truly ended up stealing the show.
Dogpool – Deadpool & Wolverine
Deadpool & Wolverine gave us many hilarious moments, and the appearance of the quirky pup Dogpool was one of them. This canine character was played by the British pup Peggy, a crossbreed between a Pug and a Chinese Crested Dog, who caught the eye of the Deadpool team after winning the title of Britain’s ugliest dog in 2023.
Frodo – A Quiet Place: Day One
Lupita Nyong’o’s character in A Quiet Place: Day One had a cat named Frodo, whom she tried to save through all the ups and downs of the impending apocalypse. Paramount wanted the cat to be CGI, but the director Michael Sarnoski wouldn’t budge, and cats named Nico and Schnitzel were eventually cast in this role. Nyong’o had to overcome her fear of cats before the production kicked off and later adopted one.
Brisket – Twisters
Glen Powell’s dog Brisket didn’t even appear in Twisters, but that didn’t stop him from stealing the thunder from the film’s cast. The actor adopted him while working on this film in Oklahoma, and he won everyone’s hearts after he brought him along.
